Horse Theme Bedding Options

Many little girls and boys who love horses want a room with a theme and for their décor to display such as horse themed bedding. Bedding options are very plentiful from bed and bath stores. If you are concerned that the theme your child wants for their room is a passing phase and you are afraid of their wanting a new theme in another month, there’s a great option for you.

Instead of buying a horse themed comforter, you could buy a horse themed duvet cover. This way, you cover the existing comforter and if the horse phase dissipates, you won’t have invested so much money into a whole new theme.

Perhaps today your daughter wants ponies but you suspect that next month the phase will be something else. If you want to make her happy today but suspect it’s short lived, you might want to do something that’s a bit of a mini makeover.

Or, perhaps you cannot afford to spend thousands on redecorating. Here are a few ideas to get the results you want without spending as much money on the full spectrum of redecorating your kids bedroom.

Inexpensively decorating with horses

To decorate a room inexpensively in a way that supports the new hobby or interest but saves you on decorating fees, you can paint the room in a neutral color and choose a wallpaper border or decals in the theme. This way, the room still represents a theme that the child likes but the work is minimal to make the change and if in several weeks or a few months the child wants a change again, you don’t have a lot of work to undo. You can simply peel off the small amount of paper or horse decals from the wall and then remove the horse duvet cover and start over. Instead of spending thousands you can get away with spending just a little.  The bed takes up a big portion of the bedroom so acts like a centerpiece and with any redecorating project, the look of the bed dictates the look of the overall room.

You can add a horse pillow to the bed instead of a whole horse duvet cover. You can also add a horse themed lampshade to an existing lamp instead of buying a whole new lamp. There are many little things that can be done. Instead of framing a painting and putting it in the room according to the theme, you can use a framed poster instead. You would be surprised at the high quality of many art posters you can find.

You can buy some inexpensive horse figurines to display on the dresser and a nice little carousel music box to match. You might want to display some horse related items on the wall such as a cowboy hat or antique items that a cowboy or rancher might use by displaying these on your wall. If your child does riding, you could take some photographs of the child in their riding habit as well as display any ribbons and awards on the walls.
